Example session with this skill installed

Plumber in Austin, TX. Also serves Round Rock, Cedar Park and Pflugerville. Services: plumber, drain cleaning, water heater repair. Emergency/24h: yes. Build my local keyword list, a page plan and a Google Business Profile sheet.

    python3 scripts/local_keyword_matrix.py --services "plumber,drain cleaning,water heater repair" --locations "Austin,Round Rock,Cedar Park,Pflugerville" --primary Austin --out local-matrix.csv

    • Read your context and instructions
    • Compiled the local seo keyword
    • Generated the data export

Wrote local-matrix.csv: 147 keyword candidates for 3 services x 4 locations (volume column left blank for tool verification).

Core (48): "plumber austin", "emergency plumber austin", "24 hour plumber austin", "water heater repair near me", "drain cleaning cost" …
Expansion (99): "plumber round rock", "emergency plumber cedar park", "water heater repair pflugerville" …

    Autocomplete check (Google, US, 22 Oct 2026): 22 of 147 typed word for word. Strongest pattern "{service} {city}" 8/12; "in/near/company/affordable/cost/prices/reviews + city" 0/12 each.

    Page plan

    • Home: plumber Austin (brand + primary city)
    • Service pages: /plumber-austin, /drain-cleaning-austin, /water-heater-repair-austin (+ "near me" and "emergency" variants)
    • Location pages: plumber Round Rock / Cedar Park / Pflugerville ONLY if you have local jobs, reviews or staff there
    • Service-area page: drain cleaning for Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville (no autocomplete demand, no separate pages)
    • Add: "{service} {city} tx" and "water heater replacement {city}"
    • Negatives: austin mn, austin indiana, austintown ohio, costa mesa, salary, costume

GBP sheet: primary category Plumber; secondary Drainage service, Water heater installation service (confirm in your GBP list); then services list, description, Q&A and post prompts from templates/gbp-keyword-sheet.md.
Volume: blank on all rows until you check them.

    About this skill

Unlike free "give me local keywords for a plumber" prompts and generic local SEO audit skills, this one builds the full service × city × modifier matrix with a bundled script, tells you which pages each keyword deserves, and refuses to plan doorway pages. Location pages only get built where you have real local proof. Volume stays blank until you check it. Nothing is made up.

Sample run (real data, 22 Oct 2026): a plumber in Austin, TX that also serves Round Rock, Cedar Park and Pflugerville, with 3 services (plumber, drain cleaning, water heater repair). The bundled local_keyword_matrix.py built the matrix. We then checked every candidate against public Google autocomplete (US, English, 54 queries). Autocomplete only shows that people type a phrase. It is not search volume.

    1. 147 keyword candidates: 48 core (Austin + "near me") and 99 expansion (the 3 service-area cities)
    2. 22 of the 147 appear word for word in Google autocomplete, e.g. "plumber round rock", "emergency plumber pflugerville", "water heater repair pflugerville"
    3. "{service} {city}" is the strongest pattern (8 of 12 confirmed), then "emergency {service} {city}" (4 of 12) and "best {service} {city}" (3 of 12)
    4. "{service} in/near {city}", "company", "affordable", "cost", "prices" and "reviews" + city: 0 of 12 each, so use them in page copy, not as page targets
    5. Drain cleaning in Round Rock, Cedar Park and Pflugerville: no suggestions at all, so no city pages. Cover those cities on one service-area page
    6. "plumber {city} tx" is suggested for all 4 cities, so plumber gets the Austin service page, plus location pages only where there are local jobs and reviews
    7. Missing from the default patterns but present in autocomplete: the "tx" suffix (17 suggestions) and "water heater replacement {city}" (all 4 cities). Add them with --modifiers
    8. Negative keywords from the same data: "austin mn", "austin indiana", "austintown ohio", "costa mesa" (cost → costa), "plumber austin salary", "plumber costume"
    9. Volume column blank and verified = no on all 147 rows (nothing estimated)

    What it does

    • Generates a service × city × modifier keyword matrix offline (CSV, stdlib Python, no API keys)
    • Splits keywords into core (primary city + "near me") and expansion (service-area cities) tiers
    • Maps every keyword to the home page, a service page, a location page or the Google Business Profile
    • Runs a go/no-go test for every location page: real local proof (jobs, reviews, staff, photos) or no page
    • Fills in a Google Business Profile sheet: primary and secondary categories, services, description, Q&A, posts
    • Hands you a verification checklist for the volume column (your own tool, Google Keyword Planner or autocomplete)

    Use cases

    • Agencies onboarding a local service client
    • Trades, clinics, salons and law firms planning service and city pages
    • A follow-up to a local SEO audit, or a site stuck with 40 copy-paste city pages
